Florida Spinal Cord Doctor Accused of Medical Malpractice

Posted on April 22, 2015 by Shapiro Law Group

Four medical malpractice complaints filed at the Department of Health went before the Florida Board of Medicine last week. According to the DOH complaints, a Florida spine surgeon and his clinic have continually put patients at risk by not offering a safe standard of care. This would be the fourth time the spine surgeon has been called before the Florida Board of Medicine.

It turns out the doctor has also been the target of several medical malpractice lawsuits. One case involved a Kansas City dentist who suffered a major degree of blood loss during surgery at the doctor’s clinic. Instead of taking the dentist to a hospital for emergency treatment, she was kept overnight at the clinic where the surgery was performed. The next day she was sent to a Comfort Inn to recover, where she remained for two weeks.

There have been four medical malpractice lawsuits against the Florida doctor and his clinic, with one resolved and three pending.
